Choosing the Perfect Fire Pit: A Guide to Using Fire Pits

A fire pit is an essential item for any camping trip in Australia, providing warmth, light, and a place to cook food. By considering the size, weight, portability, accessories, and price, you can find the perfect fire pit for your next camping adventure. Here are some tips on how to choose a fire pit for camping in Australia.

Size

Consider the size of the fire pit and how many people will be using it. You want to choose a fire pit that is large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably and also hold the amount of wood you'll need to burn. Many of the fire pits available from TRC Concepts are available in a standard model as well as a wider "plus" model. It is also important to consider the size when packed to ensure it is easy to store in your vehicle.

Weight

The weight of the fire pit is an important factor to consider when choosing a fire pit. Look for models that are lightweight and easy to transport and carry, but also sturdy and durable enough to withstand the outdoor elements. A good range for a portable fire pit is between 10 to 20 kilograms. It's always best to check the weight specifications before purchasing a fire pit to ensure that it meets your needs and fits within your weight limits.

Portability

Look for fire pits that are portable and easy to set up and take down. All of the camping fire pits from TRC Concepts are designed to pack flat in our Australian made canvas bags, making them easy to transport.

Accessories

Consider any additional features or accessories that may be important to you. TRC Concepts stocks a range of accessories such as a hot plates, camp oven support bars, rotisseries and carry bags.

Price

TRC Concepts manufactures a range of fire pits models to suit different requirements and budgets. See below for an overview of the fire pits available from TRC Concepts.

The Nomad range of fire pits is a more robust alternative to typical fire pits. This fire pit is available in two different widths. It is made of 3mm thick steel and the sides are folded to provide additional strength and resist warping. Our unique end panels also feature fold out tabs making these one of the sturdiest 3mm fire pits on the market.

TRC Concepts' NomadX range of fire pits are a raised alternative to the Nomad range. They are still available in two widths like the Nomad series but are more suited for those that want to keep the fire higher off the ground.

The Tourer Fire Pit is designed to pack down to be extremely compact. At 8.5kg and measuring just 320x180x44mm when packed, this is the perfect fire pit for applications where space is at a premium. An optional ash tray, camp oven supports and carry bag makes this a very versatile fire pit.

The Adventurer Fire Pit is a heavy-duty 5mm steel fire pit. It is an extremely versatile design with the ability to be assembled as a fire pit, a fire ring or even as a BBQ over a ground fire. This means there is no need to pack an additional hot plate with legs for those that like to cook over ground fires.

The Explorer Fire Pits share many features with the Adventurer Fire Pits. They give up the ability to be reconfigured as a fire ring or BBQ in favour of a raised design. Perfect for those that want to keep the fire higher off the ground but still want the robustness of a 5mm steel fire pit. The Explorer Fire Pits are available in wider and longer versions.

In addition to the standard range of fire pits, TRC Concepts also has a range of premium fire pits for home use as well as offering custom builds.
